The AQWA PARK is located directly opposite the Astoria Hall and is situated around the large lake in the AQWA PARK grounds. The 100 square meter grounds and Lake stage is the ideal venue for open-air concerts, not only because of its beautiful surroundings, but also because of its great acoustics.
The Bands
The central highlight on Sunday lunchtime will be played by Ingo Spät aka Horst Schneider (guitar and vocals), Susi Heimkehrer (saxophone and piano), Atze from Eddy & the Backfires (double bass) and Flash Ostrock (drums). This is the newly formed Horst Schneider Quartet.
There are the old German-language Spätheimkehrer songs (two albums 1992, 1993 on Diva Records, Hamburg) in the style of Paul Würges and Peter Kraus, a small selection of good Bill Billy & his Fabulous BillBilies songs (1997, BlueArt, Hamburg), I remember here "Bring Elvis back.... and Buddy Holly too"...) and also a few Helldriver songs that fit into the German-language 50s rock'n'roll hit concept.
It took a few years - and now it's finally working. Don't miss it!
The Hoodoo Sinners from Switzerland are made up of well-known stars of the scene. They play rockin' 50s & 60s music in their very own energetic and rocking blues style. The doghouse bass and drums pump like a steaming downsouth train. At the same time, two twangy guitars provide melodic surf and turf while the raspy vocals, the screaming blues harp and the gently accompanying saxophone encourage you to join in. All of this comes together to create a powerful live performance that you're sure to remember.
Just bring a blanket and enjoy the outstanding Hoodoo Sinners consisting of:
Nico Cennamo - Howlin' & Shakin
Pat Madison - Saxophone, Guitar & Blues Harp
Martin Telfser (Ex-Mars Attacks and many more)- Guitar
Johnatan Höhn - Doghouse Bass
Pistolero Pepe (organiser Hangar Rockin' and many more) - Drums & Marracas
The best acoustics, the floating wooden stage, the concert sail and the very special flair of this location ensure an optimal open-air concert experience for the Hoodoo Singers. It's the perfect place to get in the mood before doing some last-minute shopping in the Astoria market and then enjoying the last three bands of Walldorf Weekender 2024.
