This versatile rock'n'roll trio has been on the road in Europe's rockabilly scene since the early 90s. Whether as a solo act at numerous festivals or as a backing band for the Crystalairs: Mike Sanchez, Pep Torres, Levi Dexter or Big Boy Bloater.
The Bricats are known for their mix of swinging rockabilly, snotty rhythm'n'blues, snappy 50s pop, and punk rock with three-part harmony vocals. Eddie Bond meets Wynonie Harris, Cats & The Fiddle meets The Sonics, Caribbean rhythms meet Jive & Swing and fun lyrics meet irrelevant Rock'n'Roll lyrics. Also unforgotten - but only as a side note - the second place at the Walldorf Rock'n'Roll Weekender Beach Volleyball Tournament.
Welcome to Bricatannia!
This Italian sextet has been mixing the good old New Orleans rhythm'n'blues with the Jamaican bluebeat / rock steady of the 60s since 2014.
As a result, the four gentlemen on the instruments and the two pretty and talented frontwomen produce a powerful sound that immediately makes you want to dance. A debut CD and a vinyl EP were released in 2016, another limited vinyl single was released in 2023 and the new album should be available at Pentecost.
Greasy Ska from Bella Italia.
Two well-known powerful vocalists, a lot of rock'n'roll and a breeze of soul:
Annie Leopardo (The Booze Bombs) from Calw & Bica Stöcklein (The Railbones) from Stuttgart are the two front women of this new quintet. And they have been bringing rock'n'roll to the stage since 2022, so that the beams always bend. Female Duets, instrumentally supported by Lucky Steve (guitar) Brandon Ashington (double bass) and Rockin' Bende (drums).
Rock on!!!
This 9-piece band draws on the classic rock'n'roll of the 50s, swing and country, but doesn't forget its roots in punk rock. The powerful top of the Berlin troupe is the family band around the Doc and his daughters Hannah and Christina, who are the unmistakable trademark of the band with their polyphonic singing. Doc Horn & The Hornbabes' incisive sound is provided by the radiant horns and the crisp playing of drums, upright bass and guitar. In 2012 Doc Horn & The Hornbabes emerged from the Berlin punk rock band Fluchtweg and started to interpret punk rock and indie classics of the 70s - 90s in the style of the 50s.
Punkrock meets Rockabilly with hellishly good support from the Hornbabes.
Darrel and his Enforcers played their first gig in 1994 as support act for Screamin' Lord Sutch at the Thunderbird Club in Wellingborough. Since then, Darrel has accompanied countless original 50s Rockabilly artists such as Billy Lee Riley, Sonny Burgess or Alvis Wayne as well as contemporary artists such as his ex-wife Imelda May, Paul Ansell, Graham Fenton, Cliff Edmonds, Robert Gordon and many more. Darrel has been headlining all the major rockabilly festivals around the world for many years and is finally playing Walldorf again. He will be accompanied by Adam Miles (double bass) and Tony Hillebrandt (drums).
PS: Darrel also has his own studio, is a very sought-after session musician, also works as a producer and is supported by Gretsch Guitars and Peavey Amps, among others.
Doo Wop brought the Crystalairs together in 1988 and already as teenagers to the roots of their genre in New York. Here they met Ed Engel (Crystal Ball-Records), who immediately recognized their very own sound, deeply rooted in the style of the 50s and early 60s. "No one sounds like the Crystalairs," Götz Alsmann agreed with him. A multitude of high-quality albums emerged - many on Andy's label Part Records, then later on Bear Family and Tessy Records.
The nice kids from next door turned into big boys, but even 35 years later, they are still performing their hearts out on the rock'n'roll stages of Europe. "Big Boys" is the name of their latest CD release, from which songs will of course also be heard live in Walldorf.
Their voices still harmonize like in 1988 - Doo Wop at its best!
The Ravens Julian, Jensemann and Bojan are considered the first revival rock'n'roll band from Germany, who started their international career with their first appearance in England (the motherland of the rock'n'roll revival in the 70s), which continues to this day.
The trio finished third in the Jägermeister Rock League 2004 and were subsequently invited to play at Rock am Ring in 2005 alongside Iron Maiden, Green Day, R.E.M., Mötley Crüe, The Hives, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Mando Diao as well as Die Toten Hosen. The band is increasingly performing in other European countries and has played in 23 countries so far, including Japan, Russia and the USA.
German Teddy-boy Rock'n Roll with great vocals that stay in your ear - earworm guarantee!
