Along with the Stray Cats, they are one of the most important birthers of the rock'n'roll revival. The band around Steve Bloomfield (since 1971), Graham Fenton (since 1977) and Fred Poke (since 1971) has been on stage for almost five decades. Like only very few rockabilly bands, the five Brits succeeded in decisively shaping the rock'n'roll revival and even achieving worldwide chart success between 1979 and 1981. They sold over five million records around the globe (!) without selling themselves. On the contrary, Matchbox have always remained true to their own style. With real hits like "Rockabilly Rebel", "Buzz Buzz A Diddle It" and "Midnite Dynamos" they even made it into the German charts and into German television, where they appeared a total of eight times in Manfred Sexauer's Musikladen. This show should definitely be a musical highlight in Walldorf history.

It's quite remarkable to create your own distinctive sound where the stand-up drums become the lead instrument. Stand-up drummer and frontman Peter Sandberg succeeded already in 1988 and since then the Swedish GoGetters have gained a worldwide reputation as one of the best formations of the European "Rockin' Scene". Their talent was also appreciated by Ronnie Dawson, who played his legendary last concert in Europe with the GoGetters at the Rockabilly Rave.
