Matchbox are musical trailblazers and one of the bands which spearheaded the Rock’n’Roll Revival long before the Stray Cats and others followed. The band has been on the stage for five decades “spreading the message”. The five Britons were instrumental in shaping the Rock’n’Roll Revival and achieved chart success worldwide between 1979 and 1981, selling over five million records around the world. Matchbox has always retained its style and remained true to their roots. Their hits include "Rockabilly Rebel", "Buzz Buzz A Diddle It" and "Midnite Dynamos". They made it into the German charts and appeared eight times on “Manfred Sexauers Music Shop” (This was a West German music television program that ran from 13 December 1972 to 29 November 1984). This appearance should be a musical highlight in the history of Walldorf.
100% High Octane Hot Rod Rockabilly.
The remarkable and distinctive sound of the trio began during 1988 and is focussed around the standing drum kit which is the lead instrument and the vocals of frontman Peter Sandberg. From the very first moment, the Swedish trio has made a name for themselves worldwide as one of the best modern bands on the European "rockin 'scene". Texas Rockabilly Legend Ronnie Dawson, when he played his last concert in Europe at the “Rockabilly Rave” did so with the Go Getters as his band. He appreciated their talent greatly and covered Sandbergs composition “Mexigo!”. Look forward to a total Ass-Kickin ', Blues-Boppin, High Octane, Mega-Watt Rockabilly Boogie!
